Job Description

ENT and Allergy Associates New York & New Jerseys premier ENT and Allergy medical practice is seeking a selfmotivated peoplefriendly full time IT Field Technician for our Long Island office locations.

Description

The Field Technicians role is to ensure proper PC systems related peripherals common software programs and Operating Systems LAN/WAN operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks at our remote office locations. Familiarity with internal computer components and repair skills for desktops laptops tablet PCs PDAs servers and laser printers.

This includes receiving prioritizing documenting and actively resolving remote office location end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools as well as require that the individual give inperson handson help at the desktop level.


The Shift is from 8:30AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday and adds the following responsibilities:

Operational Management

  • Travel to all remote office locations
  • Perform handson fixes at the desktop level including installing and upgrading software installing hardware implementing file backups and configuring systems and applications.
  • Performing preventative maintenance including checking and cleaning of workstations printers and peripherals.
  • Access software updates drivers knowledge bases and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
  • Ability to thoroughly and accurately perform inventory and asset recording
  • Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and email in a courteous manner.
  • Document all pertinent end user identification information including name department contact information and nature of problem or issue.
  • Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
  • Record track and document the help desk request problemsolving process including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken through to final resolution.
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
  • Perform postresolution followups to help requests.

Position Requirements

Knowledge & Experience

  • Qualified candidates will have 3 years experience with PC systems related peripherals common software programs and Operating Systems
  • Associates Degree or above
  • Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems
  • A Certification preferred
  • Network Certification or equivalent preferred
  • Drivers license
  • Position will require travel and may require use of personal vehicle
  • May be required to work past end of scheduled shift if priority demands
