The Landscape Architecture Department seeks applicants for a pool of parttime lecturers with positions available as determined by need during theacademic year beginning September 11 2025. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications experience and time base.
Primary responsibilities are to teach in one or more of the following core subject areas:
a) Lowerand upperdivision design studios and Integrated Learning Courses (ILCs);
b) Landscape representation hand and digital graphics that include 2 or 3dimensional graphics and drafting CAD drafting and/or GIS software;
c) Landscape architecture construction including site engineering construction document preparation and implementation strategies
d) Environmental systems and landscape ecology
e) Planting design
The department is especially interested in candidates committed to support and success of firstgeneration and underrepresented students.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024 the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5507$6677
Lecturer B: $6221$13224
Lecturer C: $6825$14523
Lecturer D: $8593$15211

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field. Experience to fulfill a special need in the department will be considered with an undergraduate degree from various disciplines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Teaching and/or professional practice experience is valuable but not required.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Landscape Architecture Department at Cal Poly is dedicated to providing the highest quality educational experience for its students within a changing world and profession. The fiveyear curriculum for the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree is characterized by faculty who assist students to become independent learners and responsible for their education. Our diverse faculty creates a learning environment shared with 205 students in the department and within the College of Architecture and Environmental Design with approximately 2300 students divided among five departments: Architectural Engineering Architecture City and Regional Planning Construction Management and Landscape Architecture. The program emphasizes the integration of general education art and design with the understanding of natural and social systems in various environmental settings. Our goal is to develop leaders in the profession.
