About the role
We have an opportunity for an experiencedProduction Team Leaderto join our team. This role is based in Melbourne at our Boronia factory working 6.30am 2.36pm Monday Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Designate duties of assembly workers and lead the teams day to day activities.
- Explain and demonstrate assembly line procedures and techniques to Assemblers. Assist workers in resolving technical problems and advise the Production Manager of any production problems.
- Interpret specifications and work orders for the assembly team.
- Requisition obtain and distribute supplies and materials as required.
- Assemble TNA products as specified by work orders diagrams and templates using hand tools power tools and metalworking machinery as required.
- Fit and assemble components using fixtures hand tools and portable power tools such as grinders drills power wrenches and riveters.
- Read prepare collect and maintain reports such as individual and department production reports employee time and attendance records and component waste reports.
- A committed and proactive attitude towards Environment Health and Safety
Qualification and experience
- Relevant Trade qualifications in mechanical fitting or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical fitting/assembly experience in a production environment within the food industry demonstrating expert level knowledge of mechanical assembly processes and techniques.
- Thorough understanding of food handling processes and guidelines.
- Expert level knowledge of mechanical assembly processes and techniques
- Proven experience in supervising or leading a production or assembly team with a strong focus on communication delegation and team development.
- Extensive experience using an ERP system (Dynamics AX/Dynamics 365 highly preferred).
- Experience implementing and working within a KANBAN system to manage production flow and reduce waste.
- Experience in placing orders with suppliers and conducting inventory analysis to support efficient production operations.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining work instructions and production documentation.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- High level of proficiency in NCR (nonconformance reporting) processes.
