The Department of Justice (DOJ) seeks an experienced human resources leader to fill the Agency Human Resources (HR) Manager II position. This position serves as the Total Rewards Safety and Health manager responsible for the daytoday operations of Recruitment Classification Safety Workers Comp Benefits and Compensation. This includes serving as a Generalist supporting Employee Relations and a backup to Performance Management as well as supporting the team in absence of the HR Director.

THE STARTING SALARY FOR A NEW HIRE TO THIS POSITION IS LIMITED TO THE RECRUITMENT RANGE OF $67996 $103048.
Salary determination is based upon the candidates education and experience related to the position as well as departmental budget and equity considerations.
Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position is NC21. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as or lower than their current position. Please detail ALL work history including nonstate service experience. If selected for this position a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience funding availability and internal equity. Based upon these factors a pay increase MAY or MAY NOT result.

Considerable to thorough knowledge of comprehensive principles and practices of human resource management in designated area; management concepts principles methods and practices; state and federal rules and laws; equal opportunity guidelines personnel administration; supervisory principles and practices.
Ability to plan direct and coordinate work and activities of others; to analyze complex situations and adopt an appropriate course of action; plan and coordinate the activities of designated work functions.
Bachelors degree typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and at least 5 years of experience in human resources including 2 years of experience in an HR leadership position; or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach a NGB 23A (RPAS) if you are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.
If you are a former member of the NC National Guard who served for at least 6 years and was discharged under honorable conditions you must attach either a DD256 or NGB 22.
