TEACHING ASSISTANT The HewettDale Inclusion Centre for SEMH Permanent
35.25 hours per week / Term time only 38 weeks per annum)

Located in the heart of Portsmouth The Flying Bull Academy is a twoform entry primary school with a Nursery and an alternative provision setting for children with SEMH needs. You will be working within our new attractive purposebuilt centre to support children aged between five and nine who have a range of complex needs including social emotional and mental health difficulties.
We are looking for new colleagues to join us; a great teaching assistant who is passionate about providing children with opportunities to thrive beyond the expectation of a more traditional learning environment an enthusiastic team player with high expectations of childrens achievement and behaviour and a positive attitude. You will contribute to the childrens development including their speech and language learning physical and mental wellbeing by supporting the teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction and guidance of the Class teacher and Pupil Support Workers. You will support children on aonetoone or small group basis across a wide range of learning and positive behaviour activities including the preparation and maintenance of resources. You will need to work in a relational way to ensure that positive behaviour and relationships are promoted. You will be willing to support pupils with medical and personal hygiene will ideally have experience of working with children in a primary age setting. You will have excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to communicate with a wide range of people including children their parent/carers and colleagues. You will be resilient and hard workingwith the ability to work on your own initiative while understanding the need to work as part of a cohesive team.
