Job Description Summary
This position performs general accounting work involving financial and statistical recordkeeping for the organization in accordance with GAAP Federal and State laws OSHPD and VNA Health policies and procedures. This position performs monthly closing procedures and journal entry preparation and prepares schedules in support of the annual external audit and budgets. The position is also responsible for monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts cash reconciliation including bank and donor system reconciliation and daily cash management. Respects and promotes the mission vision and values of VNA Health.
Job Duties:
Performs month end close including preparing journal entries bank reconciliations reconciliations of general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers and preparing and distributing financial statements and reports.
Maintains general ledger account subsidiary worksheets and data bases.
Assists the Controller with completing and submitting all required reporting to regulatory and government agencies (IRS FTB OSHPD etc).
Assists the Controller with scheduling and preparation for the annual external audits.
Assists the Controller in preparing the annual operating and capital budgets.
Performs payroll processing and other payroll tasks.
Maintains procedures documents in an organized manner.
Performs research on accounting topics and recommends solutions.
Adhoc reporting and special projects as requested.
Proactively communicates with various departments vendors and other entities as necessary to exchange and verify information and expedite accounting operations.
Interprets and applies appropriate accounting rules and regulations; assures accuracy of assigned accounts.
Knowledge of State Federal local and accreditation regulations for the delivery of home health and hospice services as related to specific job functions.
Provides support and assistance to Accounts Payable and Payroll functions as required.
