Marie Curie is the UKs leading endoflife charity. We are the largest nonNHS provider of endoflife care in the UK the only provider across all 4 nations delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country while providing information and support on all aspects of dying death and leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good endoflife and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness theyre likely to die from.

The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones but at present we are only reaching around 10 of dying people at the end of now one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the endoflife through 3 ways:

Your role in our mission..

Are you passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene Do you want to make a meaningful difference in a supportive and caring environment If so we have an exciting opportunity for you! Were looking for a Housekeeping Assistant to join our housekeeping team in our Glasgow Hospice.

As a valued member of our Housekeeping Team you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the highest possible standards of hygiene and cleanliness are met and maintained throughout the Hospice. Your responsibilities will include keeping the laundry and ironing uptodate and providing cover during Bank Holidays annual leave sickness and other shortterm absences. While we plan these coverages in advance there may be instances where short notice is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Cleaning:Perform general cleaning duties such as dusting polishing and hoovering throughout the Hospice following the cleaning schedules and maintaining records of cleaning undertaken.

Waste Management:Empty and correctly dispose of all nonclinical waste bins from all areas of the Hospice.

Laundry Management:Manage the laundry as needed ensuring infection control and best practices are observed at all times.

Regulation Compliance:Familiarise yourself with and observe manual handling and CoSHH Regulations using PPE as appropriate and adhere to all Hospice Policies and Procedures including Health and Safety Regulations.

Storage Maintenance:Ensure housekeeping storage areas are kept tidy and items are correctly stored.

Stock Management:Keep the Housekeeping Supervisor informed of the need for reordering housekeeping provisions and be prepared to order and receive stock in their absence.

Additional Duties:Carry out any specific duties as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
