You will help develop and deliver highquality labor relations strategies and will provide HR support to the Chicago Plant on topics such as talent management leadership development career pathing mobility and strategic talent reviews. You will act as point of contact for specific HR topics. You are a trusted partner and will drive implementation of global strategies and initiatives across plants. You will be responsible for influencing business strategy for peoplerelated issues.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Help design improve and execute Labor Relations Strategy in support of performance transformation for the bakery.
  • Build proactive relationships with our Unions and partner to drive Contract Negotiations as well as of negotiated contracts.
  • Partner with leaders at all levels to build Labor Relations Processes and Capabilities to deliver business objectives.
  • Provide daytoday advice and support to the business on contract administration issues and grievances lead investigations and partner in developing and managing processes related to the Union Contract.
  • Partner and build relationships with key stakeholders understanding the commercial/supply chain impact of people decisions in order to fulfil business objectives providing an outsidein lens (plant roadmap people plan factory of the future).
  • Oversee site labor relations strategy including elements of communication and works council relations and compliance.
  • Drive engagement on the plant culture agenda; coach leaders on the key cultural elements and organizational values being the custodian of highperformance work systems and ensure an effective plant learning management.
  • Partner with leadership teams on strategic priorities from workforce planning insights and decisions to talent acquisition leadership development early career programs career pathing succession planning and mobility and strategic talent reviews.
  • Leverage data analytics to drive solutions and decisions that translate into actionable plans to impact the bottom line and enable business strategy. Inform and update People Services of any local legal and regulatory changes in market.
  • Support plant leadership with effective management of time and attendance systems and attendance policies as necessary coaching plant directors and plant leadership pillar in line with plant needs/KPIs support performance calibration where applicable.
  • Lead people process and support the impact of any plant transformation with effective change management leadership.

What you will bring

  • Relevant Labor Relations and Human Resources experience in a Unionized environment
  • Experience in labor negotiations contract administration and/or unionfree campaigns and prior CPG/FMCG manufacturing experience required
  • Ability to relate to and communicate with all levels of Leadership and Union Representatives
  • Problem Solving ability and agility to navigate through challenging LR situations
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset to drive relevant changes
  • Broad generalist HR experience across a range of populations and range of seniority.
  • Strong experience of working with trade unions to deliver change.
  • Proven track record as a trusted credible business partner with ability to engage inspire and influence people.
  • Experience working with Lean Six Sigma to drive high performance.
  • HR leader with an active curiosity insight orientation and external perspective about people and business performance.
  • Interpersonal savvy planning and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Future focused by thinking ahead and anticipating new opportunities leverages an outside in perspective through understanding of market trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required (Business Administration Human Resources Labor Relations or related field)

  • 8 or more years of Human Resources experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is required

  • 4 or more years of experience managing Labor Relations in a Unionized setting is required

  • 5 or more years of proven experience in one of the following: Lean Six Sigma Total Productive Maintenance and High Performing Work Systems is a plus

  • Strong coaching capability

  • Previous management experience is required

  • Experience in managing talent management programs training and employee engagement

  • Experience in creating and delivering fullscale change and engagement programs

  • Experience leading local collective agreement administration and participation in collective bargaining

  • Experience with ensuring that policies and practices are administered in a consistent and professional manner and is responsible for sharing best practices external bench marking and continuous improvement

  • A boots on the ground approach with engagement with Core (hourly) and Support (salaried) colleagues

  • Willing to travel 510

  • Core hours are during 1st shift with availability to support a 24hour operation

The base salary range for this position is $137300 $188825; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience skills education and budget. In addition to base salary this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
