About the role:
In Samsara Technologies India Private Limiteds Business Technology Core IT team we work to deliver awesome systems support and experiences that enable our teams to be as impactful as possible. As a member of the team youll be in charge of owning the technology and processes that enable our people to do their best work. We are responsible for identifying designing implementing and supporting the applications to create a streamlined experience for Samsarians. As a Sr IT Automation Engineer on the team you will provide guidance and expertise in code build and release automation CI/CD pipelines overall DevOps methodologies and cloud infrastructure design. You will be driving strategic & missioncritical initiatives technology assessment architecture decisions and building custom solutions by partnering with various technology teams and leaders.
This role will be eligible for remote work. PST timezone shift hours

In this role you will:
- Evaluate innovate develop implement and support any variety of internal Engineering automation systems geared to produce efficiency at scale
- Write code for various management tools test automation and deployment utilities
- Integrate and implement best practices and DevOps methodologies in every step of the IT engineering process
- Design develop support and manage integrations to internal and external systems as required
- Deliver high quality software using development methodologies
- Automate manual processes and continuously optimize systems for performance cost efficiency and scalability
- Conduct research and make recommendations on improvements to systems tools and processes
- Manage technical requirements gathering technical gap analysis and contribute to backlog grooming
- Champion role model and embed Samsaras cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success Build for the Long Term Adopt a Growth Mindset Be Inclusive Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology engineering or related field
- 6 years of experience in a DevOps Engineer or similar role; experience in software development and infrastructure
- Have advanced experience in Python or similar programming languages
- Have firsthand experience with various APIs and integration platforms
- Have experience developing Slack Apps
- Experience with application containerization platforms
- Experience with CICD build tools
- Have extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS GCP) and the underlying constituent services provided
- Progressively related experience in design development and implementation of highly scalable highvolume software systems applications and major SaaS solutions
- Solid understanding of source code versioning and exposure to Git GitHub
- Ability to spearhead and drive work without supervision across functions and collaborate with all levels of users and management
- Must be detail oriented selforganized be committed to quality and capable of tracking multiple work streams simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fastchanging dynamic and agile environment including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
An ideal candidate also has:
- Exposure to scale in a SaaSfirst IT environment (Google Workspace Okta Okta Workflows Workato Slack Zoom Github Zendesk etc)
- Familiarity with common AI services and tools (LLMs Agents Assistants etc.
- Developed and managed applications in a team environment
- Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira Confluence OpsGenie StatusPage)
- Experience with Splunk and Workato
- Expertise with Google Workspace and Google Cloud Platform
- Experience in a fastpaced environment
