Provides independent and collaborative primary healthcare and management of care to women before during and after pregnancy including care of the newborn in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies values and mission of the organization.
Job Responsibilities
Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation interview and examination.
Plans implements and evaluates patient care plans.
Monitors records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Performs appropriate emergency interventions and appropriately consults attending physician regarding complications and emergencies.
Provides education/counseling to patient and patients family with respect to pregnancy childbirth care of the newborn contraception family planning and gynecological care.
Provides care in the context of promoting age and cultureappropriate informed choices shared decision making and the right to selfdetermination.
Qualifications
Masters degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire
No experience required
APRN Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
RN Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND
Midwife Certified NurseMidwife certification through American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) required upon hire
