Job Description

Mission

Outcomes

Accounting and Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee global accounting operations for multiple entities ensuring full compliance with international tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage monthend close process including journal entry review account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements for month end accuracy and reduced close timelines.
  • Own and maintain the chart of accounts and reporting dimensions ensuring improved data accuracy.
  • Deliver regular internal management reporting to support informed decisionmaking.

Finance Operations:

  • Supervise and support the accounts payable process including weekly payment run preparation cash disbursements and collections.
  • Responsible for timely resolution of vendor queries maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and escalate highrisk balances to collections agency and senior leadership. Minimizing bad debt exposure and improved cash flow.

Taxation:

  • Preparation of tax related financial schedules for preparation of Canadian tax returns.
  • Work with third party providers to coordinate and complete timely filing of tax returns across international entities.
  • Ensure the timely preparation and filing of HST/VAT and all other multijurisdictional/global statutory obligations.
  • Assist with yearend adjustments and ensure financial statements reflect taxrelated impacts accurately.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Support internal and external yearend audits by preparing reconciliations supporting schedules and review processes ensuring timely and accurate data delivery.

Systems & Technology:

  • Highlight your technical skills and ability to improve reporting efficiency and data accuracy by leading the implementation and optimization of cloudbased accounting systems of accounting systems (e.g. Xero and QuickBooks).
  • Utilize Power BI to develop insightful financial dashboards automate reporting and support datadriven decisionmaking across the organization.
  • Ensure data integrity and system compliance through routine audits and system checks.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required.
  • CPA or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • 35 years of progressive accounting/finance experience including at least 13 years in a supervisory or leadership role is considered an asset.
  • Experience with multinational entities multiple currencies or consolidated reporting is beneficial.
  • Must be able to communicate financial information in sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel PowerPoint Word and Outlook).
  • Proficiency with Power BI is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new software packages and systems.

Working Conditions

  • May be required to work outside regular hours to meet workload demands and/or deadlines.
  • Hybrid work arrangement.
