Employment Type: Fulltime inperson 12month leadership role on Valors Impact Team for the upcomingschool year.
Salary: The salary range for this position is between $113750$136250. Placement within that range is based on years of comparable school leadership experience.

Founded in 2014 Valor Collegiate Academies is a topperforming public charter school network in Nashville Tennessee serving 1900 students in Grades 512. We operate two middle schools Valor Flagship and Valor Voyager that feed into our high school Valor College Prep. The Director of Leadership Development for Valors Impact Team plays a critical role as the primary driver of support and change leadership for partner schools and leaders nationwide. More than simply a coach or a trainer this individual embodies the principles of the Compass Leader Framework by simultaneously committing to selfimprovement designing and delivering transformative training experiences and wholeheartedly supporting and mentoring school leaders to write their own leadership stories. The Director of Leadership Development is also a beacon for our work and strategically collaborates with the team to continuously develop new partnerships and to innovate our offerings in response to a constantly changing education landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Effectively designs and delivers transformative training events & experiences aligned with the Compass model
  • Strategically engages in the continuous improvement of Valors training model
  • Collaborates with other members of the Impact Team to innovate and develop new offerings that are supportive and marketable to organizational partners school leaders and educators
  • Collaborates with the Director of Partnerships and other members of the Impact Team to market our offerings and to develop new partnerships
Critical Experiences and Qualifications:
Professional Experiences and Education:
  • Must have Bachelors degree in education or related field
  • Must have minimum of 3 years of experience as a school leader (at the Director level or above) or as a School Principal. Candidates with experience managing and developing Principals or School Leaders are preferred.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of designing and implementing systemwide professional development for educators and/or school leaders
Key Skills Knowledge and Attributes:
  • Skilled in oneonone and group coaching for school leaders
  • Building leadership capacity and change leadership skills in school leaders
  • Visionary and strategic approach to determining the needs of school leaders and designing solutions accordingly
  • Expertise in designing and leading transformative leadership development programs (for rising new and experienced school and district leaders)
  • Capacity to align the leadership development goals of Valors Compass model with networks or districts organizational priorities
  • Use of qualitative and quantitative data to assess program effectiveness and improve outcomes
  • Ability to evaluate leadership effectiveness and align support accordingly
  • Supporting school leaders across multiple leadership domains instructional leadership school culture people leadership and organizational change
  • Understanding of K12 education systems the current education landscape and the impact of policy on school leaders and their roles
  • Deep understanding of equity cultural responsiveness and antiracist leadership practices
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and effective professional development models
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Skill in building trust and credibility with diverse stakeholders
  • Commit to owning ones personal and inner growth
  • Motivated to seek out professional development opportunities that contribute to ones own success

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary range for this position is between $113750$136250 and placement within the range is determined based on years of comparable school leadership experience.
