  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology (required) or
  • Associate Degree (preferred)
  • 1 year radiologic technologist experience without ARRTCT (required) or
  • No experience with ARRTCT (required)
  • ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R) (required) and
  • ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT) (required) or
  • ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT) (if 1 year radiology technician exp) within 12 Months (required) and
  • CMRT Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB (required) and
  • BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required)

Position ResponsibilitiesA Texas HealthCT Technologistis responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols and performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.

In addition to the required qualifications a successfulCTTechnologistwill

  • process and manipulate images analyze image quality troubleshoot make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed.
  • correctly send and transfer images to PACS.
  • assess and recognize the patients emotional physical developmental cognitive and psychosocial conditions.
  • operate care for and maintain equipment.
  • prepare room for examination (i.e. suction oxygen supplies).
  • administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
  • maintain equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors table tops floors).
