Jackson wants to pay you to shop... for media. Thats right. We are seeking a Media Buyer to join our agency team in Greenville SC. In this role you would work with multiple national B2B clients managing campaigns with a mix of roughly 75 digital media and 25 traditional media and campaign budgets ranging from $100000 to $1000000. If you can do all that AND deal with the blank stares youll inevitably get when explaining to your friends and family what you do for workwell you just might be the person for the job.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of media or marketing experience though a candidate with less experience but a desire to learn and grow within the media department may still be considered.
The Media Buyer (MB) supports the Media & Analytics Director (MAD) with managing media buys preparing media plans or media proposals and administrative tasks required to carry out assigned media functions. The MB supports the MAD with research planning and placement of media projects and establishing relationships with all media reps and internal team members. The MB is expected to conduct him/herself in a highly professional manner with clients coworkers and vendors providing excellent courteous customer service and expertise.
General Purpose: Support client media needs through analysis negotiation placement and management of both digital and traditional media buys.
Essential Functions:
Professionally manage media plans budgets project deadlines and all aspects of assigned media accounts
Manage inhouse digital media buys (social search and other selfserve digital media platforms) including implementation optimizations and pacing
Create and maintain media paperwork including insertion orders
Update media schedules in Advantage and clientfacing media documents
Update media plans and internal budget/performance tracking spreadsheets
Compile media data analyze key performance indicators and pull insights in reports for assigned accounts
Assist MAD in media planning functions by providing research obtained through reviewing media kits calling media outlets or compiling data into a report
Establish rapport and maintain working relationships with external media partners/suppliers
Negotiate rates and/or makegoods for media with external partners
Help to maintain media contact database and all resource/media files
Maintain awareness and record of rate changes and frequency discounts from media vendors
Contribute to the profitability of the media department and the overall growth of the agency
Adhere to all agency guidelines described in the company manual
Prioritize internal customer service by serving coworkers as if they were our clients
Commit to continuous professional growth by increasing knowledge and enhancing professional skills through reading courses and seminars
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required:
Bachelors degree in advertising marketing communications or other related field
Minimum 2 years of media experience including directly managing search and social campaigns
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail in all aspects of the job
Ability to multitask and effectively track many moving parts
Ability to problem solve and think critically using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems.
Proactive and open communication skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions correspondence and memos
Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to clients and other Associates of the organization
Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint

Prior Agency experience
Experience with media buying software (Strata Advantage or SmartPlus)
Experience with selfservice DSPs
Experience with Google Tag Manager
Certifications with Google Ads Meta and/or other digital media platforms

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position the Associate is occasionally required to move about the office use computers phone video conferencing and other general office equipment. The Associate must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment
This position is performed onsite at JACKSON in a climatecontrolled office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
