The Division of Rehabilitation Services is seeking to hire a dynamic and detailoriented Housing Coordinator to develop organize plan implement and evaluate a comprehensive Community Housing Resource Program for the students at the Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education Roosevelt (ICRER). This position provides input in Case Management Services for students who are 1821 to ensure that transition plans are in place that address housing vocational training jobs and community mobility. The Housing Coordinator collaborates with community adult service agencies public and private housing entities as well as ICRER program staff to ensure effective programming is developed to meet the individual needs of each student. This role also serves as liaison for ICRER with community agencies and prepares reports on the progress of student needs. The Housing Coordinator also reviews evaluates and analyzes existing laws policies and procedures.
Serves as Housing Coordinator and develops organizes plans implements and evaluates a comprehensive Community Housing Resource Program for the students at ICRER.
Assist students in the development of written Community Housing Resources Program plan which is incorporated into the students current IEP and Transition Plan.
Provide Community Housing Resource Case Management Services input for transition students at ICRER collaborates with community adult service agencies public and private housing entities as well as ICRER program staff to ensure effective programming is developed to meet the individual needs of each student.
Serves as liaison for ICRER with community agencies which provide housing vocational training work sites and other community opportunities that meet individual student and facility needs.
Prepares social reports on progress of the specific student needs according to program guidelines and conducts research for the Superintendent and Social Services Administrator.
Reviews evaluates and analyzes existing laws policies and procedures governing housing for people with disabilities including accessibility fair housing legislation and discrimination.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four 4 years of college preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
Requires one 1 year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization orcompletionof an agency approved professional management training program.
Three 3 years of professional experience working with existing laws policies and procedures governing housing for people with disabilities including accessibility fair housing legislation and discrimination.
Three 3 years of professional experience assisting students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Transition Plans input with Case Management Services and establishing goals and objectives specific to individual needs of students.
Two 2 years of professional experience of developing implementing and evaluating programs for students with physical disabilities in a broad spectrum of opportunities within the community that includes housing vocational training and employment.
Two 2 years of professional experience communicating clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Two 2 years of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and the ability to use critical thinking skills while multitasking multiple projects.
Two 2 years of professional experience developing and maintaining professional working relationships with staff students community agencies and public.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
