Job Summary:
The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine (SDM) is looking for a fulltime Sterilization Technician II to support the CUDT clinics and predoctoral programs. Under the direction of the Clinical Support Services department leadership our Sterilization Technicians support clinical operations for the entire School of Dental Medicine (SDM). These positions are integral to dental education clinical operations focusing on sterilization and sterile processing with the opportunity for training and career growth in the healthcare industry.

The position is located at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours will be dependent on business need but typically will be MondayFriday between the hours of 11:00 am8:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Instrument and Equipment Sterilization 85
- Cleans and decontaminates instruments and equipment according to established procedures and techniques.
- Ensures proper functioning of equipment.
- Cleans and sanitizes machines and equipment.
- Maintains a level of sterilized instruments for distribution.
- Issues sterile reusable instruments to the clinical units.
- Collects and reprocesses reusable patient care instruments. Collects dirty case carts from all clinical floors and transports them to the main decontamination. Transports sterile instrumentation to all clinical floors via case cart.
- Prepares specialized instrument setups for undergraduate students residents and faculty to be used during dental patient treatment.
Instrument Distribution 15
- Issues sterile reusable instruments to operatories and clinical units; collects and resterilizes used instruments. Prepares specialized instrument setups for undergraduate students residents and faculty to be used during dental patient treatment.
- Manages the daytoday operations of the unit to include scheduling directing the work of others and providing input on performance evaluations.

Onsite this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora Colorado.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in sterilizing dental and /or medical instruments and equipment which includes at least one year of experience preparing specialized dental instrument setups.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a yearforyear basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience preparing specialized dental instrument setups.
- Certification either as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or as a Sterile Processing and Distribution (SPD) Technician from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
- Experience in all stages of the sterilization process including decontamination preparation and packaging storage and distribution.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range or hiring range for this position has been established as $43806 to $50822.
The above salary range or hiring range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
