About the Directorate
The Assurance and Public Protection directorate ensures democratic accountability of council services. The directorate work together to monitor and ensure compliance and provide assurance of Barnet being an engaged and effective council that protects the public purse. They provide enforcement services that engage and protect residents and businesses to support a safer and healthier borough. In the Assurance and Public Protection directorate we are committed to the work we do and the difference we make to residents and customers of Barnet every single day.
About the Customer and Business Development Service
Providing an excellent service to internal and external customers the service supports Assurance and Public Protection services to be as efficient effective and engaged as possible.
The team provides customer support (monitoring mailboxes creating service requests customer communication case management resource scheduling and systems administration). They coordinate responses to corporate complaints and information requests and supports services with purchasing and invoicing recruitment and onboarding of new starters and general business/office support
The service continuously seeks innovation and further improvement opportunities with regards to service standards business processes and systems.
About the role
The Customer and Business Development Manager is a varied role leading an integrated customer and business development team and working closely with the Senior Management Team and colleagues across the directorate to ensure support needs of services are met and processes are continuously improved.
As part of the management team you will coordinate and support compliance and improvement initiatives and provide visible leadership to your team.
