Position Title:Construction ManagementRepresentative

Location:Mount Rushmore National Park Keystone South Dakota

Period Of Performance:800 days3850 hours of construction management services. Exact dates of performance are TBD.

Salary Range:$80000 to $95000 DOE

Project/Position Overview:

This project will alter and expand the existing wastewater treatment plant at Mount Rushmore National Memorial and enlarge the existing plant capacity for flow and treatment. The plant processes wastewater from restrooms and concession operations that serve more than 3 million visitors and is critical to all operations within the park. The plant supports essential park operations including concessions interpretation park housing law enforcement contracting natural resources cultural resources and administration. This project will include measures to replace existing outdated process equipment and enlarge the existing plant capacity for flow and treatment.

This role is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide technical assistance and support to CO during construction.
  • Arrange attend and facilitate a variety of meetings including weekly meetings at the project site.
  • Document issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractor.
  • Review contractors baseline and progress schedules.
  • Draft project related correspondence for NPS to review and issuance
  • Inspect the work of the construction contractor for progress workmanship quality and conformance with contract documents applicable building codes and safety standards.
  • Deliver reports reviews evaluations design work etc. to CO.
  • Review and process Construction Contractors RFIs and assist in resolution draft response tracking and follow up.

Required Education Knowledge and Skills:

  • Education and professional qualifications related to construction architecture and engineering.
  • Construction practices including wastewater treatment plant expansion/ renovation/ construction. Special consideration will be given to those depicting experience wastewater treatment plant expansion/ renovation/ construction.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with the three phases of onsite control
  • 5 years related Construction Management Experience.
  • Minimum of OSHA 30hour construction safetytraining required.
  • Knowledgein construction practices including applicable building codes applicable safety regulations (must have a minimum of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30hour construction safety training) cost breakdown estimating and negotiating and technical writing.
  • Knowledge of cost estimatingwith breakdown of labor materials and equipment costs for proposed construction contract modifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans schedules and other specifications.
  • Written and verbal communication problemsolving and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of software including Microsoft Project Word and Excel.
  • Maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Qualified applicant must be able to pass a background check.
  • Ability to walk or climb on a daily basis to observe contract performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced work environment.
