Job Description
Optima is part of the Heizma group. Our goal is green energy for everybody. At Optima we set out to build one of the worlds most advanced energy management platforms. We firmly believe that affordable yet flexible energy management will be essential for transitioning fully into renewables.
To achieve this goal our team operates on all layers of the stack from hardware installations at end customers towards crunching millions of data rows per day in the cloud.
As Senior Backend Engineer your task will be developing testing and maintaining our backend platform. Energy infrastructure is critical and we acknowledge the importance of rocksolid engineering.
Our system ingests dozens of millions of data points from thousands of IOT devices per day orchestrates asynchronous processing tasks and keeps configuration in sync across the entire device fleet. And all that in a highly demanding multitenant setup while expecting high customer growth. Additionally you will be responsible for backend user flows like registration and device setup but if you can handle the above you will probably be able to just vibe code those.

Tasks
- Develop test and maintain our .NET backend platform as well as our .NET embedded software system
- Build features that span thousands of IOT devices and cloud applications
- Build interfaces to other providers in the energy space
- Design and implement solutions to ingest and process millions of data rows per day
- Help with designing the infrastructure for asynchronous machine learning and data processing tasks
- Ensure reliability and maintainability across the entire project
Requirements
- Be a team player with a growth mindset and in for the shared mission
- Be highly experienced in writing scalable and robust backends. Being skilled at testing is a must.
- Have solid experience in C# and Postgres
- Experience with cloud technologies and infrastructure as code is a big plus
