Technical Expert - Main Component Exchanges

Imagine a future where you enable offshore exchange of main components like blades and gearboxes for Vattenfalls fleet of turbines by being a Tooling Expert for Vattenfalls MCE department.  

We are looking for a Technical Expert for Main Component Exchanges in Business Area Wind a part of the Vattenfall Organization.

Vattenfall is one of Europes largest electricity generators and producers of heat. We operate in Sweden Denmark Germany the Netherlands and the UK. Our strategy is to reduce emissions from power generation with a road map aiming at achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

Together with the rest of the Tooling and Equipment group the Technical Expert for Main Component Exchanges takes the lead in developing exchange concepts for MCEs including tooling for lifting transportation and storage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop MCE concepts and business cases for such for existing and future platforms
• Coordinate the development and implementation of the special tools strategy
• Develop tooling and equipment for Main Component Exchanges on existing and future WTG platforms
• Develop strategies for jackup operations
• Develop process for qualification of contractors/suppliers

Qualifications :

To Be Successful in This Role You Should

• Have a deep understanding of heavy lifting operations and rigging especially in the offshore environment including knowledge of lifting standards and best practice
• Have experience with development of special tooling for offshore use
• Have experience on various offshore wind turbine technologies and especially the SGRE DD platform; experience with lifting tooling for this platform is seen as a merit
• Have Experience in offshore wind particularly in main component exchanges
• Have strong communication skills in English both spoken and written.
• Experience working with 3D models and Microsoft Office.
• Hold a Bachelor or Masters degree in engineering or similar. Additionally you have several years of experience within the field of offshore work.  

As a person you are structured independent and result oriented. You have superior interpersonal skills and are a natural leader. We are looking for a person who has the ability to simplify complexity yet is flexible enough to find the best ways forward. You are a team player who actively engages people by asking sharing helping or asking for help. You are also proactive transparent performance and results oriented. Sound communication skills and ability to travel is a must.
