RAO. You are the monthly checking officer for nonpublic and public funds. You will manage the Regt Acct and FSAs finances including five annual surprise checks monthly audits in conjunction with the budget manager and you need to oversee the Unit Operational Budget. You will undertake an annual G1 Assurance (G1A) under the HQ Centre SPS team. Indepth knowledge of JSP 752 is critical for this role.

You will manage a hybrid team of SPS Reservists/FTRS and three civil servants (Pay & Movements Clk FSA Regt Acct). Experience on the MyHR website is useful here as you will also report on the CS and provide them with annual bonuses/rewards through this website.

BUOTC enjoys a hybrid pattern of work with Monday and Friday as typical WFH days and is located in the Balsall Heath area of Birmingham south of the City Centre.

You will be line managed by the XO and CO respectively but will also be required to have good stakeholder relationships with Coy Comds R2IC to name a few.

Nil essentials apart from must be a substantive OF2 Reserve or Regular and to hold Security Clearance.

Regular Officers who are in resettlement can be granted early release if they hold an FTRS offer so if you are a Regular and this interests you please do not feel constrained by your current exit date. Regular applicants are encouraged to simultaneously transition to the Army Reserve Reinforcement Group (ARRG) when taking this FTRS and therefore officially become a Reservist so that any time served here counts towards Reserve seniority VRSM BeL etc. Otherwise on completion of FTRS you automatically return to the Regular Reserve.

You do not require qualifications for any of the above roles to be selected but you will benefit from coming from a background of having done at least one of them.

DE Officers would particularly suit this role due to the nature of UOTCs where you will be frequently asked questions by OCdts on the commissioning pipeline and be asked to assist in training delivery aimed at potential DE Officers but this is open to DE and LE Officers alike with no preference at the board.

Once in role you MUST become qualified as an Adjutant Career Manager (Reserve) and where possible attend the audit courses held annually in Worthy Down to perform as RAO.

You will also be asked to assist in training delivery so Defence Trainer Course (Army) is desirable as well as range and exercise qualifications.

Management of Civil Servants previously would help as you will immediately be responsible for career managing them.

You must be digitally minded. UOTC Gp is undergoing a transition of digitisation and is encompassing digital platforms more significantly than ever before into daily routine (MS Teams instead of emails for example). So this role would not suit an applicant who is not comfortable using IT frequently most of the role is on IT.
