Role: Admin Support Assistant

Department: Professional Standards

Location: Churchill Way Sheffield

Salary:(pro rata)

Hours:24

Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months

We are looking for an Admin Support Assistant who will provide administrative support working as part of the Complaints & Investigation Team.

Key responsibilities:

  • To work as part of the Complaints and Investigations team providing overall administrative support.
  • Record monitor and finalise complaints conduct matters and miscellaneous complaints using the Centurion database.
  • Checking received correspondence and deciding the appropriate course of action required.
  • To carry out all business support functions for PSD.
  • To monitor and operate the intercom system for the access/egress to the PSD compound/building.
  • Provide secretarial support to the head of PSD. Production of agendas minutes reports & of GRS for the management team.
  • Deal with enquiries from members of the public and both internal/external stakeholders/agencies
  • Maintain case filing system and departmental tape library
  • Collate information from computerised system/manual records and produce summarised reports/letters.
  • Provide resilience in terms of admin support for other units/functions of PSD.

Skills and experience:

  • Recent previous administrative experience is essential.
  • Keyboard/computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a small team under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • The post entails dealing with sensitive information and strict confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
  • Willingness to undertake all training appropriate to the role (e.g. Centurion database /Iproc/Atrium.
  • May be required to occasionally work outside normal office hours.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a prerequisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.

The decision to make all adverts temporary for a fixed term of 12 months is due to the financial position.
