Job Description
Payroll Officer Sage
Location: CTICC Cape Town Central
Salary: R30000 R40000 per month (depending on experience)
Type: FullTime Onsite
About the Role
We are seeking a detailoriented and driven Payroll Officer with a solid finance background and expertlevel knowledge of Sage Payroll to manage the endtoend payroll function for 300 employees. This is a critical role focused on accuracy compliance and the ongoing improvement of payroll systems and workflows. You will be based at our offices in the CTICC in the heart of Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full monthly payroll cycle using Sage Payroll for over 300 employees
- Ensure accurate and timeous processing of salaries wages deductions and benefits
- Prepare and submit EMP201 IRP5s and all relevant statutory documentation
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or queries
- Automate payroll processes where possible and identify efficiency improvements
- Collaborate with the finance team for monthend and yearend processes
- Maintain payroll records in compliance with SARS and labour legislation
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- Provide reports and payroll insights to management when needed
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll management
- Proven experience processing largescale payrolls 300 employees)
- Advanced proficiency in Sage Payroll is nonnegotiable
- Must have completed EMP201 IRP5 and yearend SARS submissions
- Demonstrated ability to automate systems and improve payroll workflows
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Indepth knowledge of South African payroll legislation
- Finance/accounting background is essential applicants with only HR backgrounds will not be considered
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality
- Advanced Excel
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Finance Accounting or a similar field
- SARS Efiling experience and certifications (advantageous)
- Sage Payroll training certifications (advantageous)
