Job Description
Commercial Roofing Estimator
- Location: Sterling VA
- Work Model: Onsite; 5 Days a Week 60 Travel
- Employment Type: FullTime Direct Hire
- US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Status Required
Summary
Our client is looking for a Commercial Roofing Estimator to join their team! In this role you will evaluate project specifications conduct comprehensive roofing assessments and develop accurate estimates for materials labor and project costs. You will work closely with internal teams clients suppliers and contractors to ensure seamless project and maintain the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans blueprints and specifications to determine project scope and requirements
- Conduct onsite roofing inspections to assess existing conditions identify potential challenges and gather data for accurate estimates
- Use industryspecific software to prepare detailed estimates for materials labor and project costs
- Research and obtain competitive pricing from vendors to ensure costeffective solutions
- Develop clear itemized bid proposals outlining project components and associated expenses
- Collaborate with project managers clients architects engineers and subcontractors to clarify project needs and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain proactive communication with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding project scope timelines and budgets
- Stay current with industry trends building codes regulations and new roofing technologies
- Implement best practices and innovative approaches to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency
Requirements
- 5 or more years of experience as a Commercial Roofing Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems materials installation techniques and building regulations
- Proficiency with The Edge or other estimation software
- Familiarity with project management tools
- Ability to produce accurate competitive and datadriven estimates
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams clients and vendors
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects in a fastpaced environment
Education/Certification Requirements
- No formal education or specific certification requirements are required for this role
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture or a related field
- Relevant certifications in estimating roofing systems or project management
