Job Description
QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Huntsville AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multicontractor team providing program engineering and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will be responsible for software development in the Java language.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
- Responsible for performing indepth analysis and technical support of systems software products including complex problem resolution design development testing operational integration and user support
- Maintains debugs and configures related software products
- Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications
- Assists with design coding benchmark testing debugging and documentation of programs
- Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems set standards and improve the overall efficiency of the operating system
- Designs codes tests and implements tools for operations automation
- Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require instruction and guidance
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in software engineering computer science mathematics physics or related field from an accredited college with at least 5 years of experience or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience
- IAT Level II (Security or equivalent)
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Software engineering and software development with Java/JEE experience
- Experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management
- Experience developing enterprise applications in Java on Linux. Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits
- Knowledge of serverside/database development and computer system administration
- Experience working as part of an Agile team
- Use of common software development and management tools such as git Nexus JIRA Confluence maven or Gradle and Eclipse
- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed.

- Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasks
- Command and control system application development
- Automated test and pipeline development experience
- Experience in testdriven development
- Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms
- Experience with Software Integration testing including developing automated test scripts
- Strong problemsolving skills including reviewing performance issues identifying root causes and recommending and developing a solution
- Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify/SonarQube mitigation
- Experience with performance modeling
- Experience with microservices
- Experience with DevSecOps and/or build management
- Designing and building Graphical User Interfaces
- Good working knowledge of MS Office products
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
