Description

Position Overview:The Project Accountant plays a key role in managing all billing activitiesboth incoming and outgoingrelated to specific projects. This role also supports various job cost functions and reporting needs within the accounting department. The ideal candidate will be detailoriented organized and experienced in construction project accounting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and code invoices for projectrelated expenses
  • Manage subcontractor billing and ensure timely processing
  • Maintain subcontract documentation including lien releases
  • Prepare and submit draw requests including all required supporting documentation (e.g. schedules invoice copies)
  • Assist in internal and external job audits
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel Word and other Office applications
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity with AIA billing formats and documentation
  • Experience with Vista Viewpoint or similar construction accounting software preferred
  • Previous project accounting experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in accounting preferably within the construction industry
