Job Summary
- Responsible for the training/supervision of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and the handson care and supervision of care of intellectually disabled individuals as directed and outlined in the PersonCentered Plan (PCP) Behavioral Support Plan (BSP) and medical care plan. Typically supervises 12 homes with five or fewer individuals served.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides oversight and direct care and training/supervision of residents.
- Instruct supervise train and support DSPs in the direct care and supervision as required of individuals with an intellectual disability and other developmental disabilities.
- Responsible for the management coordination instruction and monitoring of DSPs.
- Cover shifts in residential homes and able to be ONCALL.
- Flexibility needed.
- Implement and ensure that staff adhere to Ability Plus policies and procedures as well as state regulatory policies and procedures.
- Management coordination instruction and monitoring of DSPs in order to meet the goals of HCBS and PCP/BSP.
- Provide onsite management including requests for routine maintenance of homes vehicle maintenance and compliance of health safety petty cash and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in identifying employee training needs.
- Insure that all individuals medical needs and plans are implemented timely and properly.
- Complete vehicle maintenance as defined for this position.
- Monitor/measure group home operations to insure operational efficiency quality service and proper management of resources.
- Evaluate performance of team members for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.
- Oversee residential home operations to include physical facilities reporting operating and financial performance.
- Develop professional working relationships with all team members.
- Develop supportive relationship with individuals we serve and insure their needs are met.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on a daily basis (to include but not limited to time & attendance). Review books logs and complete administrative paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate all contact with family members.
- Maintain accurate records of staff performance.
- Ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.
- Complete residential responsibilities including: monthly staff schedule shopping budget areas of concentration as directed by QDDP Program Director and VP of Operations.
- Carry a cell phone and laptop in order to coordinate and be responsible for emergency coverage within program. Remain allcall as job specification requires to handle and assist in acute and critical situations.
- In coordination with QDDP keep residential homes appropriately staffed at all times.
- Conduct and take active role in house meetings.
- Monitor staff inservice Comprehensive Support Services Team and support group meeting attendance.
- In coordination with API management team arrange for screening preplacement and intake of new consumers as well as assisting in the transition of discharged individuals supported.
- Carry out directions and other duties as given by the QIDP Program Director and/or Human Resources.
Education/Background/Experience
- High School diploma/GED required;
- 23 years of experience in direct care with those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

- Previous history of management and leadership background strongly preferred.

- Must be at least 19 years of age for employment.

- Valid U.S. drivers license and acceptable driving record as determined by APIs insurance carrier.
