Job Summary:

Plans manages mentors and supervises activities and personnel within the General Nursing Department. Plans and evaluates the operations of patient care delivery within the MedicalSurgical Unit (MS) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Emergency Department (ED) and Family Birthing Center (FBC). Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and department goals and objectives to provide a safe clean and secure environment for patients staff and visitors. Organizes patient care and ensures continuity of care through direct and indirect supervision of department operations.

Education and Experience

REQUIRED: Over three 3 years of experience in nursing supervision or leadership or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the above duties. Possession of a current Registered Nurse license within the State of Oregon or ability to acquire by the time of appointment. License must be in good standing. Possession of current BLS certification. Must be able to independently provide direct patient care in at least MS/Tele/ICU and the ED within 1 year of appointment.


DESIRABLE LICENSE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited school of nursing or enrolled in an accredited course. Labor and Delivery Experience. Certifications in one or more of the following: ACLS PALS NRP and TNCC.


ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Computer Literacy with ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents completing forms opening and sending email messages and utilizing spreadsheets.
