The Team
The North Fraser Collaborative Practices Team is a passionate established group dedicated to supporting collaborative planning and dispute resolution processes that help to keep children and youth safe and enhance a familys support network. This impactful team of five Collaborative Practices Facilitators and one Team Leader serves the North side of the North East Fraser Service Delivery Area collaborating closely with other Ministry of Children and Family Development teams to support strengthsbased solutionfocused decisionmaking throughout the case management continuum. The team thrives through flexibility and dedication to providing families with input into planning for their children and youth reducing conflict and supporting collaboration in decision making. The Role
The Collaborative Practices Facilitator plays a vital role in supporting children and youth by providing families and everyone who cares about them with an opportunity to come together and be involved in shared decision making. Your work will help families to identify and invite people who will support them in developing a plan for their children and youth. In this role you will build meaningful relationships use conflict resolution skills collaborate with diverse families and Indigenous communities and link families with valuable resourcesall while making a positive impact on the lives of children youth and their families.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements


Applicants may be considered who meet the preferred OR expanded credentials and experience requirements

1. Preferred Credentials:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Social Work or in Child & Youth Care OR Masters Degree in Educational Counselling Psychology/Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare OR
  • Inservice Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who have a regular SPO 2430 base position that requires delegation under the Child Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA) OR
  • A candidate may be considered equivalent when they are registered and a member in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers or has a letter from the College confirming that their application for registration has been approved.

2. Expanded Credentials:

Human Services fields include: Psychology Sociology Criminology Anthropology Early Childhood Education Indigenous Studies Education Theology or Nursing.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

There is one 1 permanent full time positions available in either Port Moody or Burnaby.
This position provide services in Burnaby New Westminster Coquitlam Port Moody Port Coquitlam and Maple Ridge. Regular travel to these communities is required.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in Burnaby New Westminster Port Moody and Maple Ridge.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
