What Youll Do

The Apparel Copywriter develops writes and proofreads a range of digital and printed marketing and communications materials for Atlanta Apparel Las Vegas Apparel and Formal Markets maintaining a fresh contemporary and consistent overall professional style and tone. The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to understand and master the nuances of writing to engage various audiences within the wholesale fashion industry; builds strong relationships with internal customers and other support teams in order to ensure accuracy of content; and participates in the copy review process with internal and external stakeholders as required.

Position Responsibilities

• With strategic direction from marketing leadership write and traffic content for the following marketing channels to support consistent and accurate messaging:
  • Email
  • Website
  • Blog
  • Print collateral (direct mail signage etc.
  • Media coverage including ad and advertorial copy
  • Mobile app including push notifications
  • Tradeshow sales and leasing support as needed
  • Additional internal and external editorial placement as needed
• Collaborate with graphic designers and other project team members to define and create clear and effective messages that explain complex concepts in simple terms
• Proofread for errors in copy format grammar punctuation and spelling in print and digital channels
• Maintain and apply knowledge of regulatory marketing guidelines and informational trends for key vertical segments to keep content relevant consistent and compliant
• Increase campaign click and conversion rates by writing compelling and engaging copy
• Apply direct response best practices across company communications ensuring that they are actionable and drive response that meets business goals
• Additional marketing support as needed across Atlanta Las Vegas and High Point markets

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in communications journalism public relations or related discipline preferred
• 3 years of professional copywriting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Strong working knowledge of grammar rules and AP Style
• Exceptional ability to research topics gather information and write creative engaging copy
• Ability to take additions revisions and input from internal and external contacts in a constructive manner; making the required changes without losing the quality or integrity of the writing
• Strong presentation skills and reasonable comfort level in responding to questions from groups of managers coworkers and customers
• Familiarity with wholesale apparel industry and/or tradeshows a plus
