Job Summary:
The University of Colorado School of Medicine (CU SOM) seeks an innovative and collaborative Director of Education and Innovation to serve under the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education/Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Designated Institutional Official (ACGME DIO). The GME Director of Education and Innovation will provide leadership oversight and strategic direction for the institutions residency and fellowship training programs. The Director will assist the DIO in ensuring compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements while fostering an environment of continuous educational innovation through faculty development resident and fellow curricular development and improvement in feedback evaluation and assessment of mastery.
In collaboration with the DIO program directors faculty and hospital leadership the Director will lead initiatives to enhance competencybased medical education (CBME) explore nontimebased training models implement other emerging innovations in graduate medical education and assure best practices in medical education and faculty development are practiced on campus. This role is critical in advancing CUSOMs reputation as a leader in transformational medical education and ensuring that its residency and fellowship graduates are role models of the wellrounded physician leader prepared to excel in modern healthcare environments.
Supervision Received:
This position reports directly to the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education/ACGME Designated Institutional Official.
Supervision Exercised:
This position has no direct supervision; however will chair the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) Education Subcommittee consisting of 2030 volunteer members of the GME community including program directors associate directors program coordinators and housestaff members.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range or hiring range for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Assistant Professor: $75000 $135000 representing an estimated 0.3 FTE salary support plus benefits. For individuals with a current 1.0 FTE salary between $250000 and $450000 annually this range reflects a good faith estimate based on current compensation levels. The final offer will depend on the individuals uncapped 1.0 FTE salary.
