The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Medical Records Technician I. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday Friday 8 am 5 pm.
JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain and protect patient medical records in accordance with clinic policies and guidelines for patient confidentiality.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prefer medical records experience to include numerical chart filing lab and xray disposition.
- Must have professional phone courtesy.
- Prefer current understanding of ICD10 Coding & interpretation.
- Must pass preemployment drug screening.
- Indian preference.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Audit patient documentation and signature of all paperwork from all departments.
- Scan and file (PAQ) all laboratory radiology consultation etc. and other pertinent medical records for review and signature.
- Validate requests and authorizations for the release of medical information.
- Request medical records/other additional information from outside healthcare facilities.
- Respond to authorized requests for information by outside healthcare facilities.
- Issuing medical records to persons and agencies according to laws and regulations.
- Prepare charts for chart audits such as HEDIS.
- JJ Transcription dictations upload/download (Contact Providers).
- Detailed record keeping on permitted disclosures.
- Maintain incoming records through different interfaces and ensure they are filed into the correct chart.
