ABC10 a TEGNAowned ABC affiliate is seeking a dynamic and versatile Producer/MultiSkilled Journalist to join our Special Projects team. This role is ideal for a passionate storyteller committed to creating original impactful content that resonates with diverse audiences. The successful candidate will be a selfstarter with a strong background in news production and storytelling capable of producing and reporting on a variety of stories including race and culture pieces assisting with investigative projects and delivering accurate engaging narratives. Proficiency in shooting and editing content is essential as is the ability to write compelling scripts and utilize community engagement strategies.
Responsibilities:
Develop and present story ideas during editorial meetings.
produce and edit engaging stories that include general assignments and pieces under the race and culture beat.
Write clear compelling scripts supported by thorough research.
Adapt content for multiple platforms including linear broadcasts and streaming services.
Conduct community outreach and execute engagement projects.
Assist in research and public records requests for investigative projects.
Promote diversity and inclusivity by highlighting underrepresented communities and viewpoints.
Aggregate content to produce streaming specials.
Utilize social media and digital tools for research content discovery and distribution.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support team objectives.
Requirements:
35 years of experience as a news producer and multiskilled journalist.
Strong news judgment communication skills creativity and ethical decisionmaking abilities.
Experience in writing editing and reporting.
Organized with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in shooting and editing; experience with Adobe Premiere preferred.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
Proven ability to create social and digital content.
Creative thinking and problemsolving skills.
Valid drivers license and able to operate news vehicles.
Pay Range
$31.25 $36.05 USD
