FLSA Status: ExemptSite/Location:R. S. PAYNE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLReports to:Building AdministratorDate:04/23/2025POSITION SUMMARY

Provide continuity in the classroom instructional program in support of the school divisions essential comprehensive educational program by carrying out the daily routine and instructional objectives of professionally certified staff in their absence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Locate review and carry out the substitute schedule procedures duties and lesson plans.
  • Follow lesson plans as left by the contracted teacher.
  • Address the various learning styles of students.
  • Implement strategies activities and techniques for promoting quality student performance in both academic and social behavior based on students prior knowledge and experience.
  • Contribute to and manage an individual program plan for students with special needs.
  • Create and maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students.
  • Demonstrate fair and ethical judgments.
  • Apply appropriate consequences for inappropriate student behavior.
  • Display problemsolving cooperative negotiating skills and conflictresolution strategies.
  • Use classroom instruction time appropriately and wisely.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of sixty 60 credit hours from an accredited postsecondary institution or career technical facility or an Associates Degree.
