Job Description

Seal Rock Healthcare part of the Atlantic Heights Community is a fullylicensed Medicaid/Medicarecertified facility offering 105 beds. Clinical DieteticTechnician Job Summary

The Clinical Dietetic Technician LongTerm Care provides food and nutrition services to residents under thesupervision of the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). The DieteticTechnician maintains productivity standards and practices effective timemanagement prioritizing tasks and uses department resources prudently.

Responsibilitiesand duties include but not limited to:

  • Nutrition screenings
  • Participation in the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) as determinedby the RND for nutrition assessment
  • Developing and implementing nutrition intervention/plan of care
  • Documenting medical food and nutrition related data
  • Providing individualized or group nutrition education
  • Monitoring meals snacks and/or medical food intake to contributeto evaluating the residents progress and revisions of plan of care
  • If indicated: participating in term care plan meetings with orrepresenting the RDN
  • Completing assigned Minimum Data Set (MDS) and Resident AssessmentProgress (RAP) summary
  • Monitoring the quality and accuracy of food served to residents
  • Participating in quality assurance and performance improvement(QAPI) activities as assigned
  • Maintaining professional competency and skills required forprofessional practice

Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelors degree in nutrition foodservice systemsmanagement or related area granted by an accredited college or of a dietetic technician program or completion of requirednutrition and dietetics coursework through a Didactic Program in Dieteticsaccredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition andDietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to qualify forcredentialing.
  • Experience as a dietetic technician in a longterm care facilityor acute hospital food and nutrition services preferred.
  • Certifications/ Licenses: Nutrition and DieteticsTechnician Registered (NDTR) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
