Chaplain
Part time .40 16 hours per week)
8:00am4:30pm (no on call required)
Primarily responsible for the provision of spiritual care services to meet the social emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families/caregivers either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors.

Clinical Excellence
Collaboration
Develop and maintain a resource group of clergy to whom specific aspects of spiritual care may be delegated.
Recruit community chaplains spiritual counselors and spiritual care volunteers adequately to meet patient/ family/caregiver needs.
Develop community contacts and offer education through congregations about hospice care.
Provide educational programs for community clergy religious and lay representatives as resources allow.
Provide educational inservices to the hospice and community.
Serves as liaison and support to community chaplains and spiritual counselors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Graduate of accredited school of theology or related Bachelors degree.
2 units of CPE
Experience: Ordination in a particular religious group and/or endorsed and in good standing from an ecclesiastical governing body
License(s)/Certification(s):
Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for workrelated reasons.
Valid Mandatory Reporter coursecompletion by state(s) requirement
CPR Certification.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency with computer applications i.e. Excel Word Access)
Ability to minister to persons and families in crisis situations
Experience in working with patients/families dealing with lifethreatening illness and death.
Must be comfortable in working in an interfaith setting and able to accept different lifestyles cultures beliefs and values.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as a collaborative team member across service lines as position requires.
Ability to understand and apply guidelines policies and procedures.
Able to network with community clergy and congregations.
Possesses knowledge of and commitment to the hospice philosophy of care.
Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position
