Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Observe legislative hearings floor debate and committee meetings related to health and human services.
Assist with bill tracking summarizing legislation and compiling background information.
Support the policy team in planning and implementing new or revised Medicaid policy initiatives based on passed legislation.
Conduct research and analysis to support decisionmaking and policy updates.
Assist in preparing briefing materials presentations and internal communications.
Participate in meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience in public contact customer service and/or performing and applying office/clerical support procedures including the use of a personal computer associated software and office equipment.
Preferred: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in public policy political science public health healthcare administration or a related field. Interest in legislative processes and public health policy. Strong communication organization and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment. Familiarity with Nebraska state government is a plus but not required.
