Job Description
Position Title: Electrician
Reports to: Contract Manager
Location: Palo Alto CA
Employment Status: FullTime
FLSA Status: NonExempt
Position Summary: Aldevra is seeking a skilled Electrician to support operations at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. The Electrician will perform a wide range of electrical maintenance and repair duties for a large medical campus including both patient care and administrative areas. This role requires a dependable professional who prioritizes safety quality and VA customer service. This position is contingent upon contract award.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Install maintain and repair electrical wiring systems fixtures and equipment.
- Inspect and troubleshoot electrical components including transformers circuit breakers and wiring.
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) local building codes and VA policies.
- Operate and maintain generators emergency power systems and energysaving systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Complete work orders and documentation accurately and timely.
- Respond to emergency service requests including afterhours if needed.
- All other duties as assigned.

Security Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain VA badge.
Workplace Safety and Environment:
This role involves work in mechanical rooms rooftops and other facility areas with exposure to electrical systems. Must follow OSHA NFPA 70E and VA safety protocols including PPE and lockout/tagout. Physical activity includes climbing lifting and working in confined spaces.
This position requires passing an extensive background check.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a commercial/industrial electrician.
- Valid California General Electrician Certification (per Title 8 CCR 290.1.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E OSHA safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Strong communication skills and professional conduct in a VA healthcare environment.
- Valid drivers license.
- Excellent and accurate written communication.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required.
- Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry.
- Customer Focused and teamoriented work ethic.
- Able to multitask efficiently and accurately focusing on quality.
