Job Description:

Are you passionate about ensuring accuracy and excellence The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Division of Medicaid and LongTerm Care is seeking a detailoriented and driven individual to join our team as a Program Accuracy Specialist. This position is located at the Nebraska State Office Building Lincoln OR the Beatrice Administration Building.



Examples of Work

Job duties of the Program Accuracy Specialist include but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitor and track compliance with federal requirements for the States PASRR program.
  • Participate in PASRR program development and improvements with the vendor and the contract manager.
  • Conduct desk reviews of resident charts for nursing facility residents with Level II PreAdmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) evaluations to ensure the recommendations in the PASRR are implemented and ongoing.
  • There may be limited onsite visits to nursing facilities to meet face to face with residents and care management teams at the facility.
  • Provide guidance to residents and their care management team who express a desire to move to a communitybased setting with supports in place
  • Take an active part in team discussions towards these goals
  • Develop and provide training to residents families and nursing facility staff regarding the PASRR process and community options.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Two years experience in a health and/or human services field or public service organization with responsibility for determining eligibility assessing public assistance needs or case management using program rules and regulations OR 24 semester hours of post high school education in behavioral sciences social sciences public/business administration adult education or closely related field and experience in eligibility determination or assessing needs for public assistance and/or social services programs.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in nursing facilities which includes interpreting and analyzing laws rules regulations policies and procedures. Knowledge of: methods and techniques of program planning; federal and state laws rules regulations and procedures pertaining to health and human services programs; quality assurance mechanisms; principles and techniques of planning monitoring and evaluating human services programs and service delivery systems. Experience with technical security and policy support for program data systems. Knowledge and understanding of the federal requirements for the PreAdmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR).



Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge of: federal and state program regulations laws and case processing; quality assurance and monitoring tools and methods; case management practices including assessment analyzing critical information plan development and implementation adult training theories principles and practices; statistical data and collection methods.

Skill in: teaching others; monitoring and assessing work performance of others.

Ability to: learn and apply agency policies and procedures; interpret explain and apply State and federal laws and regulations; conduct data analysis quality assurance reviews and identify trends; communicate with others to receive and relay information; analyze situations and develop an appropriate course of action; effectively interrelate with a wide variety of individuals; formulate conclusions; persuade others; develop implement and present training programs; conduct root cause analysis and recommend appropriate actions.
