Body Line Mechanic Trainee
Hourly pay per hour: $25.34
Job Responsibilities
Inspect machine to determine if it is in proper operating condition.
Inspect cut stock and cans at all stages of production to determine if they meet quality standards.
Perform maintenance of machines as required to include adjustments exchange of parts overhaul installation of change parts and other adjustment repairs and alterations as required.
Participate in overhaul planning.
Instruct body line mechanic trainee as required in the efficient performance of their duties.
Keep all production and maintenance records pertaining to job.
Report all downtime in ProTraQ.
Report unusual events or emergencies to supervisor immediately.
Consult with supervisor regarding company policies and procedures.
Maintain working area in clean and orderly condition.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and other line personnel.
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form
Experience/ Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Journeyman Mechanic
Physical Requirements
Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally 75 lbs.
Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand reach stoop bend kneel climb and a variety of other physical functions on a frequent basis.
Must be able to follow safety procedures
Must be able to work at a consistently fast pace.
Must be able to work in varying environments.
Working Conditions
Shift work and overtime is required as needed.
The employee is regularly exposed to a loud environment moving mechanical parts/machinery and chemicals.
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
