DIET AIDE PER DIEM
Rotating shifts MF and weekends 6:00am2:30pm 10:30am7:00pm. Rotating holidays. Weekends are required.
The Healthcare Diet Aide is responsible for effectively communicating with patients staff and guests of the hospital to ensure accuracy and timeliness of patient meal trays and floor stock. Major responsibilities include assembling patient meal trays delivering meal carts to patient units aiding in the meal setup at bedside discarding of soiled trays taking inventory and stocking food items as needed and providing exceptional customer service. The Healthcare Diet Aide responsibilities also include but are not limited to taking patient meal orders using the electronic ordering system dishware sanitation nondishware sanitation maintaining a clean and sanitized work area participating in training and any other tasks identified by the supervisor or manager.
1. Participates in regular safety meetings safety training and hazard assessments.
2. Complies with all hospitalwide and departmentspecific policies and procedures.
3. Assists in food preparation and assembly of patient meal trays. Stocks refrigerators on patient units and stock supplies on the tray line. Prepares desserts for cafeteria and stock the desserts in the federal cooler in the caf.
4. Delivers patient meal trays in a timely and courteous manner providing assistance in tray setup as needed to patients.
5. Collects and cleans soiled trays in a timely manner. Clean the Dish Room and Dish Machine at the end pf each shift. Wrap silverware.
6. Participates in all dietary inservice training as required.
7. Provides excellent customer service to patients families visitors and hospital employees.
8. Works as part of a team to accomplish timely and courteous service.
9. Maintains and cleans work area throughout the day and at the end of shift
10. Completes assigned HACCP Logs
