Job Description
The Ithaca College School of Music Theatre and Dance invites applications for a oneyear fulltime position in oboe beginning in August 2025. We are seeking an experienced teacherperformer who is enthusiastic about working with undergraduate students in a conservatorystyle environment within a liberal arts setting.
The successful candidate will teach applied oboe lessons to students in a variety of degree programs oboe reedmaking lab studio performance classes and Class Oboe for music education majors. Additional responsibilities include coaching woodwind chamber music participating in area activities such as auditions recital grading and competitions and contributing to schoolwide recruitment efforts with a particular focus on oboe recruitment.
Additional teaching duties will be assigned based on the candidates qualifications and the schools evolving needs. Preference will be given to candidates with classroom teaching experience who can demonstrate a secondary area of expertise such as ear training or music education. Candidates with experience or interest in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
Earned Masters degree required. Demonstrated excellence in performance oboe pedagogy classroom instruction and recruitment is preferred.

Hiring Rate: $61000
