Department Background:

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) is a pioneer of purposedriven science and Cornell Universitys second largest college. Position Summary:

The CALS School of Integrative of Plant Science (SIPS) is composed of five sections: Horticulture Plant Biology Plant Breeding & Genetics Plant Pathology and PlantMicrobe Biology and Soil & Crop Sciences. Combined there are 100 faculty and senior academics 200 graduate students and 500 other employees located in of facilities in Ithaca Geneva and other satellite locations across the New York State. The school offers the multidisciplinary undergraduate major in Plant Science and offers graduate studies in five distinct fields. The school is home to the Agricultural Sciences major and school faculty contribute to the Biology International Agriculture and Rural Development and Viticulture and Enology majors. Annually the school has $32M in sponsored research expenditures and $60M total expenditures.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Finance and Budget (ADFB) and working in conjunction with the School of Integrative Plant Science Finance Team and with the University Shared Service Center (SSC) provide high level financial and accounting support to SIPS units located in Ithaca. As a provider of financial services to SIPS make appropriate judgments about financial activities in a manner that coincides with university policies as they relate to account management grant and contract management sponsored project accountability college reporting and accountability for funds management. Work directly with the Senior Financial Reporting Specialist (SFRS) to provide regular account updates to be used in reporting and personnel planning for Project Investigators (PIs). Establish close working relationships with SIPS administrative leadership team faculty and staff. Establish and maintain close working relationships with the University SSC. Work within a collaborative team environment to provide the most efficient and streamlined processes for SIPS and the college. Obtain sponsored programs certificate training and stay updated on changes in University policies and procedures as they relate to financial processes.
