Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multistep progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**
Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this position exists isto oversee the daily operations and coordination of veterinary services for theanimals within the Montgomery Zoo. The position will work closely with theveterinary team and animal care staff to ensure the health safety andwellbeing of the zoos diverse animal collection. The work responsibilities ofthe position are providing assistance to the animal care team overseeing theveterinary health records and perform administrative related functions such asrecords keeping and inventory and contribute to the departments objectives. Thisposition reports to the Zoo Veterinarian.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in BiologyWildlife Conservation Business Administration or closely related field and three(3 years of professional experience working in a veterinary hospitalzoological setting or wildlife center.
NOTE:Qualifying education training and experience that provide the requisiteknowledge skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Special Requirements
Must be flexible in working hours includingavailability for emergencies afterhours and weekend shifts.
