Job Description

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking a fulltime Safety & Security Supervisor. In this role the supervisor is part of a team responsible for the safety and wellbeing of employees volunteers and visitors. They serve as a main point of contact for security officer personnel during their shifts and provide support and input on security teamrelated matters under the guidance of the Safety Health and Security Manager.

The supervisor also is an active security officer required to respond to various types of emergencies such as first aid lockdowns missing persons fire alarms and more. They also play an integral role in the guest experience and contribute by ensuring parking lot signage is in place responding to customer questions and ensuring the property is ready for opening.

Qualified candidates will have 2 years of security experience (e.g. security officer loss prevention etc. and have the ability to lead and supervise a team of security professionals. Candidates must have knowledge of security practices ability to defuse aggression objection or conflict using culturally competent antiracist and empathetic responses as well as ability to positively engage with the houseless community.

This position requires working onsite at the museum location working one weekend day and evening shifts depending on business needs.
