MDW Associates is seeking a highly qualified DAI Financial Analyst to provide support to the Comptroller Office of our Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) client. DARPAs mission is to maintain the technological superiority of the U.S. military and prevent technological surprise from harming our national security by sponsoring revolutionary high payoff research that bridges the gap between fundamental discoveries and their military use. MDWs specific client the DARPA Comptroller is the nucleus of corporate fiscal activities. Current government requirements are for staff to work remotely; however the requirement may potentially change in the future.
The DAI Financial Analyst may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:
- The Financial Analyst will work with the Comptrollers Budget Analysts in support of DARPA technical offices. Providing tier 1 financial help desk assistance to the technical offices for fiscal budgetary and procurement matters. Primary duties may include reviewing analyzing and creating funding documents; tracking of internal and external documents; direct interaction with executing Agents to ensure accurate and timely processing; updating and maintaining financial systems; preparing ad hoc reports.
- Tasks range from providing Comptrollers guidance for financial questions or assisting the technical office contractors or government personnel to troubleshot budgetary or financial system related issues. Assisting to resolve financial issues or answer questions directing to correct Points of contact or providing past experience or examples that resolved similar issues.
- Analysis of dormant funding documents regarding commitments obligations and expenditures; with internal DARPA financial staff and external agents to validate the continued need for funding. Compile financial information from available systems and provide weekly metrics and status updates.
Required Experience/Skills:
- The candidate shall have a minimum of three 3 years of general experience in: analyzing and evaluating complex textual and/or quantitative information in order to make comparisons among alternatives or to make recommendations for corrections or improvements in process operations or policies; experience with automated systems to include database maintenance and reporting; the ability to extract and report reliable data; sound oral and written communications skills; experience communicating with various levels of personnel; and ability to anticipate project and plan accordingly.
- The candidate shall have five 5 years of specialized experience in similar services; knowledge of accounting principles and DoD financial policies and directives; the ability to analyze and prepare financial documents in compliance with the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR); and ability to identify and resolve complex problems.

- Experience with Defense Agency Initiative (DAI)
Education Requirements:
- Candidates for this position must possess a BA/BS degree
Security Requirements:
- Candidates for this position must possess a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance
