The Area Superintendent oversees multiple Electrical Construction projects ensuring they are completed on time within budget and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership technical expertise and coordination with various stakeholders including project managers engineers clients and field personnel.
Plan and supervise General Foreman and Foreman on craft activities including determining method of electrical construction manpower levels material quantities equipment temporary power sources work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.
Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts company departments or other contractors.
Maintain liaison with engineering estimating and Project Management to ensure work complies with drawings specifications and schedule.
Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity work interfaces etc. as required.
Maintain communications with unions resolving jurisdictional disputes requisitioning required manpower etc. as necessary.
Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e. Material Control Purchasing Quality Control Engineering) to ensure all required materials equipment inspections etc. support craft activities and project schedule.
Lead in the implementation of all field training programs.
Closely monitor company QA/QC programs.
Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction.
The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the positions role within the business unit.
Advanced understanding of electrical construction scheduling cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups essential.
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel etc.; Oracle preferred.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks changing priorities as necessary
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
Ability to be selfmotivated proactive and an effective team player
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees both management and staff alike vendors clients and others
815 years of experience in electrical construction including field supervision
5 years in a leadership role (e.g. Foreman General Foreman or Electrical Superintendent)
Extensive experience with large scale electrical projects particularly commercial data cents industrial or infrastructure projects
Journeyman or Master Electrician license
Strong Knowledge of NEC(National Electrical Code) local electrical codes and data center specific standards
Up to 25 50
General work environment sitting for long periods standing walking typing carrying pushing bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
