Job Description
Looking to grow your welding career Join TBEI in Lake Crystal MN as a Senior Welder!
Job Summary: Responsible for meeting customer needs by:
- Setting up and operating welding equipment to weld and assemble truck bodies hoists and fabricated parts (may include working Robotic Welder)
- Ability to weld in various positions daily
- Maintaining a clean work environment
- Assisting with continuous process improvement and lean initiatives by following process flow remaining flexible to complete tasks as part of the team maintaining a clean work environment and offering suggestions for improvements etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Tools Used: Welding equipment (MIG Pulse and/or TIG) robot welder jigs clamps computer buffer grinder wire brush cutting torch hand tools overhead hoists forklift trucks hand carts measuring devices air tools etc.
Safety Equipment: Welding helmet leathers (optional) safety glasses safety shoes with metatarsal guards face shield ear plugs gloves etc.
Environment: Heavy industrial atmosphere including exposure to grease oil heat humidity fumes/odors sparks occasionally cramped quarters and awkward positions.
Competence: Competence for this job must be shown by completing the TBEI Lake Crystal Senior Weld Demo with a passing score.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Thursday 5:45am 4:15pm with flexibility for overtime on Fridays
Essential Job Functions:
- Prompt and reliable attendance so we can meet our customer needs.
- Ability to perform basic math to determine ability to measure assemble and problemsolve.
- Must be able to demonstrate welding ability. Must be able to pass welding certifications.
- Ability to manually move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular heavy physical exertion including but not limited to climbing lifting carrying pushing pulling and bending. Using the overhead hoists requires ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to stand and work in various positions for several hours at a time. Most of the work is done on concrete ladders and in dump bodies.
- Ability to determine and make welding equipment adjustments as needed read complicated instructions blueprints measuring devices and perform basic computer data entry.
- Must be a team player working with coworkers other departments and/or other TBEI facilities. The focus is on meeting company goals and initiatives.
- Ability to learn operations of multiple machines/jigs within a job area and must be able to regularly rotate jobs to meet job schedule team needs or to meet any safety recommendations.
- Must work at a reasonable pace (measured by production efficiency) and within our quality standards to insure timely completion of tasks and must work overtime as required to meet customer needs.
- Must work in a safe manner following safety procedures including: wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) completing maintenance requests and communicating hazards to coworkers and management.
Additional Job Information:
- Wage Expectations: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour Plus $1.00 per hour Stainless Steel Premium when certified
- Pay: This is a nonexempt hourly position and employees are paid on a biweekly basis
- Typical Schedule: Four 4 Ten 10 hour days MF Overtime may be available on your 5th day of the week and/or Saturdays

- Travel: Very minimal to none
