About the Position

TJFACT is seeking to hirea wellqualified Warehouse Specialist Lead to join our team in support of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) inSan Diego CA.

The Warehouse Specialist Lead will be responsible for wide variety of job responsibilities in all facets of the distribution center operations pertinent to their assign area of responsibility providing leadership and direction to assigned workforce within the functional work areas. The Warehouse Lead will ensure the workforce adheres to audit readiness requirements and associated contract requirements. overseeing daytoday planning implementation and problemsolving of a team in the performance of the teams assignment. While managing the activities of the team the Team Leader will also perform a variety of warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishments storage plan.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and meet the productivity and quality control accuracy goals associated with assigned functional work area and work processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to understand and fully execute a minimum of three 3 aspects of storage management functions as assigned:
    • Receiving Functions (Receiving & Induction): Validating accuracy of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading invoices manifests storage receipts or other records.
    • Checking for damaged goods; insuring goods are appropriately identified for routing within the facility preparing and keeping records of goods received. Ensuring accurate system induction utilizing WMS IAW established SOPs. Entering and updating item record information to include Global Weight and Cube for each item at time of receiving.
    • Warehouse (Stow and Storage): Stow receipts in appropriate storage areas and locations. Ensure stock material is accurate and stored properly. Ensure material is properly packed preserved and ready for issue. Comprehend and understand the facility storage plan as outlined by management and SOPs.
    • Requisition Processing: Pick and pack customer requisitions/orders as generated by the WMS. Verify picks and packs are accurate as compared to requisition documentation (NSN quantity and Condition Code).
    • Inventory Verification / Validations: Perform physical inventory counts (various TPIC) and verify location to stock accuracy.
    • Transportation Preparation: Prepare and complete outbound process of requisitions / transshipments for transportation to include physical conformance of packaging quantity correct NSN and proper staging in the transportation / shipping section. Ordering and filling SEAVANS
    • Additional responsibilities include completing bills of lading (BOLs) customs forms manifests and other required shipping forms and paperwork in accordance with the Defense Transportation Regulations (DTR).
    • Generate PPP&M work order execute packaging and labeling requirements to specifications and record all work performed IAW DLA SOPs and DLA process manuals.
  • Communicate to Compliance Team (Inventory Customer Service and Quality Control) system discrepancies that cannot be resolved.
  • Utilize emails to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with all work areas and levels of the Distribution Center.
  • Understand Acceptable Performance Level (APL) metrics associated with assigned functional work areas / process and work expeditiously to meet contractual and team goals.
  • Follow established guidelines in performing daytoday routine tasks as outlined in SOPs/Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS) Technical Manuals and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in association with established Warehouse Management Plan Inventory Control Plan/Stock Readiness QC Plan & workload requirements.
  • Make local deliveries as required to meet operational needs.
  • Utilize DSS and other GovernmentFurnished data systems to perform the requirements of the contract.
  • Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing stacking or palletizing materials IAW prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
  • May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
  • Uses Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other Government Data Systems resolving common error conditions responds to computer output instructions or error conditions following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Possess a valid Drivers License.
  • Fluent in speaking reading and writing the English language.
  • Must be able to obtain Security Clearance access and comply with associated contract requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and/or maintain HAZMAT / RAM Programs specific certifications and comply with associated contract requirements.
  • Able to operate Material Handling Equipment (Forklifts and other).
  • Able to operate power tools and other industrial equipment.
  • Able to successfully completion of WMS training OSHA compliance DLA SOP training and various company training requirements.
  • Able to stand squat and have full range of motion wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as needed for job duties lift at least 40 pounds operate a forklift in accordance with a training certification program and see hear and respond to dangerous situations.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Military or DLA Distribution experience a plus.
  • Previous leadership experience a plus.
