Description

At Hormel Foods base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $18.25$25.50 per hour and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including but not limited to jobrelated knowledge skill set level of experience and geographic market location.

GENERAL ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST AUSTIN PLANT

The work schedule for this position is Monday Friday. 6:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m. Some Saturday work and overtime will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The person in this position:

  • Reconciles the daily hog purchases sent to harvest to prepare accurate and timely payments to hog producers.
  • Audits hog tracking on various reports to correct any data entry errors potentially impacting payments.
  • Coordinates validations with the Grade & Yield and contract admin team to complete payments prior to the daily Mandatory Price Reporting deadline.
  • Records the daily voucher files payment support documents and prepares emails with payment support to producers.
  • Performs various reporting activities related to hog purchases such as pork board insurance defers etc.
  • Must have the ability to work at a fast pace handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be willing to proactively seek information from team members to address issues and keep on track.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Post high school accounting classes or the equivalent in experience.
  • Demonstrated pattern of highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational ability to include attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to initiate appropriate action independently.
  • Software proficiency in the Windows environment including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn computer applications (Commodity Procurement System and Oracle).
